Stormwater management is managing the amountof runoff and pollution caused by natural percipation that doesn't soak into the ground where it falls. This is important because most stormwater runoff collects pollutants which can damage the environment. Lots of rain can overwhelm storm drains resulting in localized flooding. The goal of stormwater management is to minimize pollutants and decrease the volume of water and thus slow it down.
