Enkadrain 3801/ XF 3801 is a new thin drainage composite which is part of the Enkadrain family of environmentally conscious products. It consists of a post-industrial recycled white polypropylene drainage core and a very strong but lightweight white Colback filter fabric thermally bonded to one side and a grey Colback fabric bonded to the other . The U groove entangled filament configuration is protected from UV degradation for up to 30 days. This product, because it has 40% post-industrial recycled content, can help contribute up to 2 LEED points when used in conjunction with other recycled content products. Enkadrain 3801 can contribute towards additional LEED points when used with a green roof by reducing stormwater runoff, heat islands and energy consumption

· Runoff increases with roof gradient

· Water runs off too quickly on steep slope, growing substrate can become dry especially near the top of the roof

· Risk of sliding of green roof materials on the roof at high gradients

Drain layer is generally not necessary
Use thin profile drains (0.25”) if needed
Secure drainage layer to prevent sliding

· Use thin profile Enkadrains (0.25”) to slow down runoff and allow time for the rain to soak into the growing substrate
