Rubber Butyl Seal Tape: Waterproof, Double Sided Tape! 1.5" x 100'

Butyl Seal Tape is permanently flexible, never ages, or dries out

What makes this tape so special is the fact that it has a grid like reinforcement unlike most butyl tapes that we know of on the market!  Without reinforcement, the tapes stretch, often falling down from the surface of they did not bond well enough initially. Then people try to put it back where it belongs, and get it stuck all over their hands. They end up with a very sticky gooey mess- once aptly described as like getting bubble gum stuck all over your hands. Don't drill though it either! It will wrap around your drill bit!

Installation For Butyl Seal Tape...

  • The surface to be taped should be clean and dry. The tape will not adhere if the surfaces are not properly prepared.
  • Dirty or wet surfaces should be completely cleaned with water, paper towels, dry rags or other materials which will prepare the surface for the tape.
  • Accumulations of dust should also be removed to insure a secure seam.
  • The product obtains optimum adhesion when the surfaces to be bonded are warm. The surfaces should be above 50-60°F to insure an acceptable bond. In order to obtain a bond at lower temperatures, external heat may be required.
  • The use of an industrial style hot air blower is one recommended method.
  • Extra care should be taken when attempting to install tape at temperatures below 32°F.

Unlocking the Secret of Butyl Seal Tape: A Lifelong Bond of Flexibility

Butyl seal tape, a seemingly unassuming tool in the world of adhesives and sealants, possesses a unique set of qualities that sets it apart from the rest. What makes it so special? It's the fact that this tape is not just a one-trick pony, but a versatile, ever-flexible, and durable companion that stands the test of time. In this blog, we'll dive deep into the world of Butyl Seal Tape and explore what makes it an indispensable solution for various applications.

The Reinforcement Grid That Sets It Apart

One of the most notable features of Butyl Seal Tape is its grid-like reinforcement, which distinguishes it from the majority of butyl tapes available on the market. This grid reinforcement makes all the difference. Without it, butyl tapes tend to stretch and lose their integrity, often peeling away from surfaces they were initially intended to bond with. When this happens, trying to reposition the tape can result in a sticky mess, akin to getting bubble gum stuck all over your hands. And beware – if you attempt to drill through it, you'll find it wrapping around your drill bit, leading to even more hassle.

Butyl Seal Tape, however, overcomes these challenges with ease, thanks to its grid-like reinforcement. This feature ensures that the tape remains in place, without stretching or losing its grip. No more dealing with sticky mishaps or wrestling with unruly tape.

Permanently Flexible: Time's True Friend

Butyl Seal Tape's defining characteristic is its permanent flexibility. It defies the aging process, refusing to dry out or become brittle over time. This means that once you apply this tape, it stays flexible, retaining its effectiveness year after year. Whether you're sealing a leaky roof, securing an HVAC system, or joining two surfaces together, Butyl Seal Tape ensures a lasting bond, adapting to changes in temperature and environmental conditions without breaking a sweat.

Unmatched Waterproof Properties

Water damage can wreak havoc on structures and materials. Butyl Seal Tape is not only a reliable adhesive but also a formidable water barrier. Its waterproof nature makes it perfect for sealing seams, joints, and gaps, providing an impenetrable shield against moisture. So whether you're working on outdoor projects or tackling a leaky basement, this tape is your go-to solution for keeping water at bay.

A Double-Sided Dynamo

Butyl Seal Tape is double-sided, which means it adheres on both sides. This dual adhesive capability allows it to bond various materials, creating strong connections. Whether you're joining two panels of polypropylene or polyethylene, ensuring their edges overlap and sealing them with Butyl Seal Tape is the way to go.

Aggressive Adhesion Where It Matters

The aggressiveness of Butyl Seal Tape's adhesion is another standout feature. It grips surfaces with tenacity, creating a bond that is not easily broken. From concrete and wood to metal and glass, this tape works wonders on a wide range of materials, making it incredibly versatile for a multitude of applications.

Adheres to Almost Anything (Except Red Brick)

Butyl Seal Tape is a versatile adherent, bonding to a wide array of materials. Concrete, wood, metal, and glass are just a few examples of surfaces where this tape excels. However, it's important to note that red brick seems to be the one material that resists its charms.

In conclusion, Butyl Seal Tape is a remarkable solution that combines the strength of adhesive properties with a permanent flexibility that defies the test of time. Its grid-like reinforcement ensures it remains in place without the mess, and its waterproof capabilities, double-sided nature, and aggressive adhesion make it a go-to choice for numerous applications. So, the next time you're working on a project that requires a reliable and versatile tape, remember that Butyl Seal Tape is here to stay – forever flexible, never aging, and always up for the task.
