The answer is YES. Manufacturers of plastic sheeting have been adding a string/ skrim/scrim layer to polyethylene since at least the 1950's. By adding the string layer, it adds reinforcement to the plastic so that it can better hold up against wind, tears and other stresses. It makes a substantial difference.
Yes, string reinforced plastic comes in different colors- some even have white on one side, and black on the other.
String reinforced poly can have additives such as the fire retardant additive, anit-static, U.V. etc. This adds that much more usability for the plastic.
Scrim reinforced plastic can be custom made to a certain color. grommets, hem, and drains can be added as well.
Just like non-reinforced poly, string reinforced poly comes in varying thicknesses. The thicker, the stronger in most cases.
