Can I use 4 mil plastic for greenhouse?

OUCH! 4 mil plastic is VERY VERY thin! A good wind and bye bye greenhouse covering. It is said that you get 1 year of UV protection...REALLYY???? Sun destroys polyethylene. Consider other options.

Can I use 10 mil plastic for the greenhouse?

10 mil plastic if thicker than 4 mil or 6 mil, so it will have a little more staying power.  Generally these films  are not made specifically for greenhouse use. How many years of UV protection does it really give you? 10 - 30 years? Probably not. How stong is it in a 100 MPH wind or a huge snow load? Does it matter?
