How To Tarp A Roof Temporarily After a Storm

People ask us what is the best plastic sheeting to use to tarp their roof after a storm to temporarily stop the leaking. After all, the goal is to reduce the roof leak repair cost.

Not all plastic is created equal for this. We recommend using Opaque, 6-10 mil string reinforced polyethylene. The opaque feature will reduce the amount of condensation when compared to clear sheeting. Remember, Opaque can mean white plastic. Often people hear the word, opaque and think of black plastic.  A white film will reflect the sun while a black film will absorb the heat.
