LLDPE Geomembranes- Heavy Duty Liners
What are Diamond Scrim LLDPE Liners? Diamond scrim LLDPE liners are advanced geomembranes designed for robust containment solutions. They consist of Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) reinforced with a diamond-patterned scrim, typically made from high-strength polyester. This reinforcement enhances the liner's tensile strength, tear resistance, and durability, making it suitable for various demanding applications.
Key Features:
-
Enhanced Strength: The diamond-patterned scrim provides superior reinforcement, resulting in high tear resistance and strength.
-
Chemical Resistance: LLDPE offers excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, making these liners suitable for various containment applications.
-
Flexibility: The material's flexibility allows for easy installation over uneven terrains and adapts to different environmental conditions.
-
Optional Textured Surface: Improves traction and increases friction for enhanced slope stability and onsite safety.
GPS Diamond Scrim LLDPE Liner Specifications: GPS Diamond Scrim is composed of two heavy sheets of impermeable, high-strength LLDPE extruded on both sides of a high tensile strength scrim-reinforcing layer. This composite membrane has an excellent combination of flexibility and tensile strength.
-
Optional Gray Upper Surface: Reduces heat buildup compared to standard black material and is less reflective than white liners in bright environments.
-
Opaque Black Underside: Prevents sunlight penetration and UV transmission.
-
Large Roll Production: Raw materials are produced 142” in width to minimize the seams required.
-
Meets Industry Standards: GPS geomembranes meet or exceed GRI GM13 and GM17 standards and are available in large rolls to expedite deployment.
-
EPA Compliance: EPA regulations enacted in May 2015 require the use of geomembrane liners and caps for the disposal of coal ash. GPS geomembranes comply with these regulations and are available as interim covers and lightweight rain-shed covers fabricated to any size.
Common Applications:
-
Aquaponics and Hydroponics: Used as liners in systems where water containment is crucial for plant and fish cultivation.
-
Agricultural Covers: Serve as protective covers for grain or crop storage, shielding them from environmental factors.
-
Industrial Containment: Utilized in lining reserve pits, frac pits, and under rig liners in the oil and gas industry to prevent soil and groundwater contamination.
-
Water Retention: Applied in retention ponds and freshwater pits to ensure reliable water containment.
-
Environmental Protection: Employed in landfill caps and waste lagoon liners to prevent leachate leakage and protect surrounding environments.
The combination of LLDPE's inherent properties with the added strength of the diamond scrim reinforcement results in liners that are durable, flexible, and versatile, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial, agricultural, and environmental applications.
