Question:  Where can I find a high temperature tape?

Answer:  There are a variety of tapes that can withstand high temperatures. For example we have a tape that has a maximum temperature of 395° Fahrenheit.  It is called, Polyken 781.  It is used extensively in the aerospace industry for metal bonding. We carry many different tapes for a variety of uses.

Question: I am sealing duct work and need a fire retardant tape. What do you recommend?

Answer:  May we suggest you check out Polyken 225 Fr tape.  This tape is used in aerospace for applications that require the tape to be flame retardant.  This tape meets the ASTM D-5446 Type IV Class 1.

Question:  I can't find Fire Retardant Rope. Will your Fire Retardant Safety Strapping work?

Answer: It's not an easy task finding fire retardant rope, according to a number of our customers.  While we do not offer traditional ropes in Fire Retardant versions, we have a series of Safety Strapping products available in FR that can often be used.  Our most popular is a ¾" polyester strap with a 2950 pound break strength.  One of our largest customers has tested this strap to pass the FAR 25.853a FR standard, which is the one required for interior items in airplanes.  Stocked coils are ¾" x 250' and ¾" x 1650'.

The Safety Strapping can be used as a substitute for rope for many applications.  We actually designed it to take the place of steel banding, but those looking for Fire Retardant Ropes have found this to be pretty handy!

Question? Do you carry a fire retardant, double sided tape that does not leave residue?

Answer: Yes the double faced flame retardant tape you are looking for is called Polyken 108FR.  It is frequently used on airplanes for holding down carpet on passenger compartment floors. Best of all, it removes without residue~!

Question:  Does waterproof duct tape exist?

Answer:  Yes it does. It is called, Polyken 231 waterproof duct tape!  It is often used in the aerospace industry and for packaging applications.

Question:  How do I adhere a plastic vapor barrier/retarder to a foundation wall in a crawl space?

Answer:  The best and most common way to adhere a vapor barrier to foundation walls is with a double sided butyl tape in combination with 1/4 inch plastic "Christmas tree" style push pins.
