According to the EPA, all homes, regardless of the zone they fall in, should be tested for radon.  While Zone 1 in red has the highest average indoor radon screening level, zones 2 and 3 can also be at danger.  There are several ways to mitigate radon.  One of which is to have a vapor retarder installed that will physically block the radon gas from pass through the vapor retarder.  Click here to learn more.

Does California have Radon?

" Radon levels vary from location to location, depending primarily on the amount of uranium in the soil. Los Angeles County, for example, is not considered to have particularly high levels of radon, with approximately one percent of homes believed to have levels above the EPA's action level. Riverside and San Bernardino Counties are estimated to have levels comparable to those in Los Angeles; levels in Orange County are thought to be lower. Ventura County, on the other hand, is considered a high radon area. In one survey, over 14 percent of the homes in certain parts of the county had elevated levels."  Visit this page to learn more.
