Padded Sole Cover Plus in Action!

Padded Sole Cover Plus- Protecting Wood Flooring

Padded Sole Cover Plus is an 80 mil thick covering well suited for covering wood flooring of any kind.  This unique structure consists of a lightly self-adhesive bottom side, which keeps the covering from moving around on just about any horizontal surface, a middle padded layer of needlepoint non-woven fabric, plus a top layer of polyethylene to assure any spills will not reach the protected surface below.

Padded Sole Cover Plus quickly rolls directly onto the surfaces being protected from rolls 36" x 100'.  This product has a non-slip feel, and customers tell us they love the luxurious feeling. Once a customer has used this product, they always want it used on future projects.

Far and away our best selling product for protecting wood soles in boats. It stands to reason that many boat repairers have found other uses for this product.  As a taped in place covering, joinery of any kind can be protected, countertops, bulkheads, engine room surfaces, bedding, or any other surfaces which might become damaged by workers.

The big advantage in using this type of product is that it gives superior protection when compared to most conventional coverings for this type of application.  Its costs can be figured into the cost of the project, which helps preserve the job's profit margin. Repairs and re-work come out of the bottom line, this product just makes good dollars and cents (sense also).

Because of the popularity of this product, we have developed two "sister" products to Padded Sole Cover Plus, one is called Vapor Escape, the other is Absorb.

Vapor Escape is a similar structure, 80 mils thick, lightly self-adhesive, but has a top layer which allows vapors from un-cured flooring or other surfaces to escape, while keeping liquid spills from being able to penetrate its top surface. The advantage here is that surfaces can be protected very quickly after being finished.

Absorb is also 80 mils thick, lightly self-adhesive, with one big difference.  Absorb has its polyethylene layer sandwiched within its structure and an absorbent top layer.  We are told by the lab this layer will absorb 400 times its weight in liquid and take it away from the top surface.  This product has a very anti-slip anti-skid feeling.  Its only real disadvantage when compared to the Padded Sole Cover or Vapor Escape is that it is not easily cleaned.  It shows how much dirt is being tracked aboard or inside.  When using Absorb we recommend using Tacky Door Mats just outside of protected areas to keep the Absorb as clean looking as possible.

If used in large areas, these products should all be overlapped slightly and the seams taped to insure any spills cannot run under the coverings.
